Super producer Greg Berlanti is no stranger to crossovers, but they’ve only ever involved his shows on The CW — “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.” But after much speculation, it has now been confirmed that “The Flash’s” Grant Gustin will be speeding his way to National City to join “Supergirl” in the first crossover event between The CW and its sister site, CBS.

The episode is written by Andrew Kreisberg and Michael Grassi and will air March 28 on CBS. Titled “Worlds Finest,” it’ll be the 18th episode of “Supergirl’s” first season. There’s no word yet on if any other members of Team Flash will be joining Barry Allen on his trip, but there’s no doubt that Kara (Melissa Benoist) will eventually return the favor and make her way to Central City at some point.

Executive producers Berlanti and Kreisberg had this to say about the crossover event:

We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we started making ‘Supergirl’ – The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up! We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”
