Making its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, Brie Larson’s character describes her and son Jack’s (Jacob Tremblay) situation as akin to being Alice in Alice in Wonderland. Trapped in a 10-by-10-foot space, Larson tries to make the best of her situation so as to not scare her son, but as her resilience loses momentum and Jack gets more curious, it becomes harder to maintain the calm and so they plan their escape.

Room is based on the novel by Emma Donoghue and is directed by Lenny Abrahamson (Frank). The film also stars Academy Award® nominees Joan Allen and William H. Macy.
