Green Lantern was a bad call for everyone involved, and no more than Ryan Reynolds, who took a massive blow to his career because of the film. So it’s nice to finally see Reynolds bounce back a bit since then, and in a role he originated in the Wolverine: X-Men Origins film (albeit with a different costume).

The slightly more extended trailer for Deadpool was leaked at comic con in July, but now we finally get the official trailer release – and it’s the red band version! Reynolds appeared on Conan last night to premiere the trailer and talked a bit about how Deadpool finally became a reality after years of being at a stand still. The Marvel mercenary, who went through the same program as Wolverine did, is a smart mouth and isn’t at all what we’re used to in terms of other Marvel movies and characters.

So there’s a lot to look forward to. Reynolds even gets to make a sarcastic remark about not being put in a “green” and “animated” suit, clearly poking fun of his time as Green Lantern.

You can check out the trailer below! The film co-stars Morena Baccarin (FireflyGotham) and Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6). Directed by Tim Miller, the film will hit theaters February 12, 2016.
