You’ve probably seen them on “Saturday Night Live” or watched their videos on YouTube, and now, The Lonely Island is getting their own movie, aptly titled “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.”
Andy Samberg, along with members Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, write and star in the film, which will surely delight anyone who’s ever been a fan of boybands at some point in their lives (myself included). Last night, Samberg stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and revealed the name of the film and a new poster, which you can find below.
“Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” is the story of Conner4Real (Samberg), a singer/rapper whose popularity tanks after the release of his second album. To regain his status, Connor4Real sets out to reunite his boyband.
The film is co-directed by members Shaffer and Taccone, produced by Judd Apatow, and also stars Sara Silverman and Tim Meadows. It opens in theaters on June 3rd.
