No one can really deny that the films of the ’80s were fun. There were the teen angst and dance movies, and then there were futuristic films like The Terminator, which catapulted Arnold Schwarzenegger into the spotlight and made him a quotable movie star. A lot has changed since 1984, but the love for The Terminator films has not. Since then, we’ve had not one, but four films to be added to this ever-growing franchise. And now, the newest installment Terminator Genisys is not a sequel so much as it is a reboot.

The new film follows the very familiar story line from the original in which Kyle Reese goes back in time to save Sarah Connor from death by the hands of the futuristic terminator. This time around, however, Reese finds himself in a different kind of timeline, which the official second trailer reveals to us, along with new dangers. The trailer promises good action, tricks, and explosions. And while it looks a bit goofy sometimes and reveals a bit too much about the supposed new villain, Genisys will surely be a hit at the box office this summer.

You can check out the new trailer for Terminator Genisys below. The film stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, J.K. Simmons, and Matt Smith. Directed by Alan Taylor, the action film will hit theaters July 2nd.
