‘Black Panther’ Cast Details Confirmed, New Logo Revealed

By Mae Abdulbaki on July 23, 2016 0 Comments

The King of Wakanda is finally getting his own movie and the entire cast has been confirmed. San Diego Comic Con 2016 has been great this year, with lots of news and first official footage and trailers debuting. This con has been especially good to superhero fans.

After making his debut earlier this year in Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman will be headlining his own solo film. Black Panther won’t hit theaters until July 6, 2018 (too far away!), but at the Marvel panel earlier this evening, a new logo was revealed and the full cast confirmed.

Joining Boseman will be Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, an agent of Killmonger later known as Malice, and Danai Gurira as Okoye. Both women are members of Dora Milaje, which are wives-in-training to the king and also bodyguards. Michael B. Jordan rounds out the cast and will play the villainous Erik Killmonger.

Ryan Coogler (Creed) is writing and directing the film, which begins shooting in January 2017. Black Panther will continue the story of T’Challa, warrior king of Wakanda, and with a cast like this and Coogler heading the film, it’s something to be excited about!
