The talented Ryan Coogler is finally being recognized as one of Hollywood’s most up-and-coming directors. Having successfully brought Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) into the 21st century and introduced us to Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) in last year’s “Creed,” Coogler has proven that he has great abilities and potential.
Which is what Marvel also saw in him as they’ve now confirmed that Coogler will most definitely be directing “Black Panther,” which will star “Get on Up” actor Chadwick Boseman in the title role and will be written by Joe Robert Cole (“Amber Lake”).
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says they’re “fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family.” This will definitely add some spice to Marvel’s slate of films as it moves into phase three of its cinematic universe.
“Black Panther” is set to hit theaters on February 16, 2018, but will make his onscreen debut before then in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War.”
