The summer movie season is upon us. And while all the films that will be coming out over the next few months are hyped up and full of excitement, it’s also that time of year where we begin to get the first teasers for the more dramatic films of the fall season. And of course, no drama film with a great female lead is complete without Meryl Streep.

She is joined by Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Brendan Gleeson in Suffragette, which follows the early underground feminist movement for women’s right to vote. The teaser trailer is our first glimpse of the Sarah Gavron-directed film, which is being released to tie into the “Voting Matters” United Kingdom elections.

You check out the teaser trailer below. Suffragette opens in limited theaters in the U.S. on October 23, 2015.
