The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Michael Fassbender will no longer be a part of Lynne Ramsay’s Western “Jane Got a Gun”.

Jude Law has been cast to play the villain while Joel Edgerton will replace Fassbender in the lead male role.

Before Fassbender’s exit, Edgerton was set to play the role of the antagonist. Fassbender was forced to leave “Jane Got a Gun” a few weeks before production began due to scheduling conflicts with “X-Men: Days of Future Past”.

Natalie Portman will play the lead female role in “Jane Got a Gun” which centers on a woman who is forced to ask an ex-lover for help in order to save her husband from a gang who is set on killing him.

Lynne Ramsay will direct the Western and production is set to begin in April
