Universal Studios is rebooting “The Mummy.” Again. The 1999 film of the same name, which starred Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser in the lead roles, was already a remake of the 1932 film.

“New Girl” actor Jake Johnson, who was last seen on the big screen in “Jurassic World,” is joining the cast, which includes Tom Cruise in the lead role and Sofia Boutella (“Kingsman: The Secret Service”) as the terrorizing mummy. The film is set in modern times and actress Annabelle Wallis is currently in talks to play the lead female role opposite Cruise.

Johnson will play a military man. “The Mummy” begins shooting in April. Writer Alex Kurtzman (“Star Trek,” “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”) will direct the film, which is set to hit theaters on June 9, 2017.
