Thor: The Dark World – Thor is back, sans the Avengers, and is trying to stop a new threat that has the ability to overpower and plunge the world into darkness. In between all this, he gets back with Jane, teams up with Loki on purpose, and of course, tries to save the world in all his blonde, hammer-holding, cape-blowing glory. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Jaime Alexander, and Stellan Skarsgard.
Gravity – I’m sure everyone had a dream of becoming an astronaut at some point in their lives. Well, Alfonso Cuaron has probably shattered the dreams of many when he made this film, but regardless, Cuaron still makes space that much more beautiful, mysterious, and dark. Ultimately, the movie is the story of survival, perseverance in fear, and humanity, with plenty of suspenseful moments packed throughout. The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
Nebraska – The lottery is a big deal for aging and confused Woody. He is set on making the trip from Montana to Nebraska just so he can claim the $1 million mega sweepstakes marketing prize. You know, the ones you usually get in the mail and throw away because you know there’s a catch and it’s not real. Instead of trying to prevent, because he’s tried, David takes his dad to Nebraska, but not before coming to terms with certain things about their lives first. The film stars Bruce Dern, Will Forte, June Squibb, Bob Odenkirk, and Stacy Keach.
Blue is the Warmest Color – The winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, La vie d’Adele (the title in French) follows Adele as she explores her sexuality and embarks on a relationship with the free-spirited Emma. The relationship changes Adele as she explores and learns and lives. The film stars Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux.

Twice Born – A single mother brings her son to Sarajevo years after his father died in the Bosnian war. The film is shrouded in mystery and tragedy in the wake of some unanswered questions of paternity. The film stars Penelope Cruz, Emile Hirsch, and Jane Birkin.
