After last year’s exciting addition and wonderful reboot of the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Days of Future Past, many are even more psyched for X-Men: Apocalypse. I know I am! And it’s fair to say that no one is more excited than the film’s director, Bryan Singer, who has become the film’s PR person as well as director. Most recently, he announced via Instagram that Olivia Munn will be joining the film as the mutant Psylocke.
Psylocke has only made one appearance in the franchise, a very minor role in 2006’s only horrible film installment, X-Men: The Last Stand. Munn, known mostly for her work on Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom, will be joining the film along with fellow franchise newcomers Lana Condor, who was cast as mutant Jubilee, Oscar Isaac as the villain Apocalypse, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.
Munn joins cast members James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne and will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
