Robbie Amell and Rachael Taylor, known most recently for their roles on “The Flash” and “Jessica Jones,” respectively, have been cast in the Netflix sci-fi thriller “ARQ.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “ARQ” is being written and directed by “Orphan Black” mastermind, Tony Elliott. The film is a low-budget sci-fi thriller, but looks to continue building and expanding Netflix’s original content reach. And now that they’re worldwide, everyone will be watching. The synopsis of the film is below.
“ARQ” is a post-apocalyptic thriller set in the near future when the oil supply has run dry. Trapped in a house and surrounded by a gang of mysterious masked intruders, an engineer (Amell) must protect a technology that could deliver unlimited energy and end the wars that have consumed the world. The only problem is that the technology has created a time loop that condemns him and his friends all to relive the same day over and over.
Amell just finished shooting McG-directed horror comedy film, “The Babysitters” and will next be seen as a return guest star on “The Flash,” but as Deathstorm, an evil version of his character on Earth-2. Taylor will next be seen in the Matthew McConaughey film, “Gold” and will reprise her role as Trish Walker on season two of “Jessica Jones.”
